EcoHaus among the TOP 10 Innovators of the Czech Republic: what innovation that starts with listening looks like

When I received the news that EcoHaus was among the top ten innovators in the Czech Republic, it was a powerful moment.

My head was running memories of the very beginning - the first papers, the first testing, the first positive feedback from people with atopic eczema. But also all the doubts, failures, decisions we made based on intuition and feedback.

And suddenly I realized that this story fit together. Not because we got an award. But because we never stopped asking: "How can we do this better?"

An evening full of familiar faces and human atmosphere

I arrived at the gala with Dasha and Adri, who are an integral part of our EcoHaus team. Just the fact that we were there together was symbolic. EcoHouse is not a one-woman show. It's an interplay.

In the hall we met familiar faces from the startup world - for example Zuzana Paulovics and Markéta Uhrova, who accompanied me in the early days of the ČSOB Start it accelerator. Without their support, I might never have started many things.

The whole evening had unexpectedly human atmosphere. Although it was a prestigious event, nothing seemed distant.

The Audience That Listened or My First Panel Discussion

And then came my First panel discussion - on eco-innovation. It was moderated by Mr Mareš from Hospodářské noviny. I opened the topic of returnable packaging and described how challenging it is to build your own system when you lack system support and investment. I talked about the enormous cost, the risk that the investment might never come back. But also that we believe that this is the way to go - that the circular economy is not a trend, but a necessity.

I was worried about the discussion - after all, we are a small brand, without investors, without a startup "big show". But the reactions surprised me. The audience of investors, founders and experts really listened. There were words of appreciation, respect. I sensed support and understanding.

We've gotten a special award presented to me by Michaela Bauer. Holding in my hand a symbol of appreciation for something we built with our own hands, without investment, without shortcuts - that was a feeling that will stay with me forever.

Innovation is not about technology. It's about attitude.

Most people associate the word "innovation" with technology. But I understand it differently. To me, innovation is Courage. The ability to look at things with new eyes. To do things differently than usual. And most importantly - to create with the heart.

EcoHaus does not create products based on trends. They are created from conversations. We conduct hundreds of hours of focus calls, collect data, test with real people. Then we create. Our work papers have only six ingredients. They're minimalist, efficient, gentle. We don't carry water in plastic - we save resources. We're proof that even a small brand can make a big difference.

What others might overlook is this subtle innovation: systematic customer education. Not just what we offer, but how to use it and why it makes sense. The trust we build over time is not the result of one product. It's a relationship.

What the award really brought us

After the publication a wave of messages came in - from customers, colleagues, friends and people who have been following us for years. They've written to us saying that EcoHaus has changed the way they do laundry. That their laundry finally smells good and their skin is at ease. That they have a clean, chemical-free home. And that it was easier than they expected.

Such feedback is the biggest motivation for us. It confirms that what we do has an impact. That the brand is not just the packaging and the product. But the community. Culture. Dialogue.

In hindsight, I can see that this prize isn't just a reward. It's a mirror. It showed us that we were moving in the right direction. And that even though we're moving slowly and without investors, we're moving honestly. And that may be the greatest innovation of all.

A vision that turns into reality

EcoHaus has never been just an e-shop for me. It's a space where people who want to do things differently come together. We are currently scaling, automating and expanding our portfolio - for example, with premium cleaning products. But at the same time, we keep a balance. We want to to create in a long-term, sustainable way and in line with our values.

Innovation does not have to be measured by the amount of investment. Sometimes the greatest innovation is the courage to be honest. Doing things your own way. And when you can build a team of people who feel the same way, the work becomes something deeper.
