Grease stain on fabric is one of the most challenging stains to remove. You simply can't wash it out. Start by thoroughly sprinkling the stain with baking soda and rubbing as much of it into the fabric as possible. The baking soda will absorb some of the grease; to increase effectiveness, cover the stain with paper towels on both sides, which will soak up more fat. Finally, take an iron and carefully press over the paper towels on the stain. The remaining grease will dissolve with the heat and transfer from the fabric to the paper towels. Your clothing is now ready for regular washing.
Spread open containers or bowls of baking soda in various places in the basement. Baking soda has the ability to absorb moisture from the environment, which helps reduce overall humidity. Usually, you need to replace the soda every 1-2 months.
