How to remove a stain from supergreens

When health dyes your favorite shirt

A story from life

"I was drinking a smoothie with chlorella and some of it dripped on my beige pants. It left a deep green stain that wouldn't come off even after a regular wash. Soda, lemon, vinegar, and EcoHaus paper helped. Stain gone, pants saved."

- customer Simona

Supergreens - blends of green powders (spirulina, chlorella, young barley, matcha, wheatgrass...) are great for health, but can be a little green nightmare on clothes or textiles:

  • They leave deep green to olive stains,
  • containing chlorophyll, enzymes and natural pigments,
  • are extremely colourful - often more strongly than fruit or coffee,
  • and if not washed immediately, the stain can remain as a "green shadow" or become embedded in the fibres.

But don't worry, even green healthy powder has its natural counterbalance - lemon, baking soda, vinegar and EcoHaus paper.

Why supergreens are a challenge

  • They contain chlorophyll and other highly pigmented ingredients,
  • the colour penetrates quickly into the fibres and catches especially on light fabrics,
  • enzymes and proteins can oxidize and leave a "yellow trace",
  • the longer the stain remains, the harder it is to remove.

How to stain supergreens step by step

What helps:

  • Baking soda
  • Lemon juice / citric acid
  • White vinegar 10% - disrupts enzymes and neutralizes odor
  • Sodium percarbonate - for white and light fabrics
  • EcoHaus Washing Papers
  • Lemon essential oil

Procedure:

  1. Do not rub the stain , do not press. Just lightly blot with an absorbent cloth.
  2. Sprinkle with baking soda, drizzle with lemon juice, let it fizz for 30-45 minutes.
  3. Then add a cloth soaked in a solution of white vinegar and water (1:1), leave for another 15-20 minutes.
  4. For white/light fabric, add sodium percarbonateduring washing .
  5. Wash with EcoHaus washing papers - gentle programme.
  6. Add a few drops of lemon essential oil to the soak - refreshes and refines.

What not to do

  • Do not use hot water. The pigment will bake.
  • Do not iron before washing. The stain will set.
  • Do not let dry without pre-treatment.

Tip from Grandma Petra

Lemon is good for green powders. If it's a dark green stain, percarbonate will help too. And if it doesn't work the first time, don't be afraid to do it again.

Tip from Vlaďka - the cleaning lady

Supergreens? It looks healthy, but it takes respect to wear it. Soda, lemon, vinegar, and then paper. For smoothies and tablets, it all stains the same.

Summary

Supergreens are great for the body, but not for the shirt. Luckily, with lemon, baking soda, vinegar and EcoHaus paper you can remove the stain before it sets in.
